Something to Check Out: Gardening in the City this Thursday!

It's time for another Santa Monica Farmers Market Quarterly Library Panel Series on Thursday February 9th. This one will focus on how does your garden grow, either on the farm and in the city. I recommend a lot of events, but the Library Panel Series definitely one of my Favs. Free, fun, super educational, and with great free food (purchased at the Wednesday SMFM) at the end of it, this time made by Il Grano chef Sal Marino!

Underwood Family Farms' Farm Camp 2011

Underwood Farm Camp

This seems like an awesome idea to me!

Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark is offering summer Farm Camp for little people who are interested in farming and animals. What a great way to educate kids early on about where our food comes from and make if fun!

Kids will learn totally cool things like what it takes to grow the perfect strawberry or how to sheer a sheep. In these week long sessions each "Little Rancher" will interact with a wide variety of farm animals and bring home their very own fruits and vegetables picked straight from our fields. Kids will also participate in numerous fun and educational craft projects and farm games, with the highlight of the week being an Animal Show put on by the children to educate and entertain their family and friends. Awwwwww.

The first week of Farm Camp begins June 20. For any one interested in Farm Camp enrollment and/or Underwood Farms go to www.underwoodfamilyfarms.com or call (805) 523-8552.
